Sacramento Event: THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride

Relive the magical journey of THE POLAR EXPRESS™ on an hour-long train ride to the North Pole. All aboard!

The California State Railroad Museum Foundation is excited to announce tickets are on sale for THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride. Enjoy hot chocolate and a yummy cookie as you ride along with many of the story’s characters such as the Train Conductor, the Dancing Waiters, and a ghostly Hobo. Once you reach the North Pole, the jolly old elf — Santa himself — will come on board to give each passenger a silver sleigh bell, the “first gift of Christmas”.

The festive and fun train rides kick-off on Friday, November 29 at both locations –– the Sacramento Southern Railroad in Old Sacramento State Historic Park and the Sierra Railway at Railtown 1897 State Historic Park in Jamestown.

After that initial holiday weekend, train rides are available Wednesdays through Sundays (in Old Sacramento) and Friday through Sundays (in Jamestown) through December 22. In Old Sacramento, trains depart at 3:30 p.m., 5 p.m., 6:30 p.m. & 8 p.m. on the days the holiday trains are running; in Jamestown, trains depart at 4:30 p.m., 6 p.m. & 7 p.m.
